About

Hi, my name is Chey!

(Chey is pronounced like the word “shy”, by the way.)

My pronouns are he/him and I am an author, digital artist, and virtual content creator (VTuber). Welcome to my little site where I share the stories I write, blog posts, and many other things.

Here’s a quick Q&A to answer some frequently asked questions!

Why do you use an avatar? Do you show your face?

I originally became a VTuber because I was scared of being myself online. Back in 2019, I was severely cyberbullied, which led me to delete my presence online, even though I was self-publishing books at the time. Around the same time, I became aware of VTubers again (I had seen them for first time back in 2016), and I figured it would be a fun thing to try out since I planned on using a pen name anyway. So, I downloaded a program called Vroid Studio and the rest is history!

Now, since returning to writing under my real name, I continue to use an avatar for two reasons. For one, I am camera-shy and don’t feel comfortable posting my face everywhere online. You may see things like my desk setup or my hands in my videos, but only time will tell if I show more. Secondly, using an avatar is the best way to showcase my work. I currently take commissions to make VTuber models for other people and I can easily point at my own content to show clients what they can expect from my work. On top of that, it lets me express myself in fun ways. It’s a win-win!

What do you write and why?

While I write in multiple genres, a lot of my stories fall into the realm of fantasy and LGBTQ+ fiction. Almost all of my stories feature LGBTQ+ characters because I am part of that community myself and I enjoy writing characters that are members of it, too.

I’ve been writing stories for as long as I can remember and I feel the most at home when working on my creative projects, so I hope that my works can provide readers with as much comfort as creating them gives me. 🖤

What do you plan to achieve by writing and posting online?

Eventually, I would like to build up a community and be able to support myself with my creative projects. My dream job is to be a full-time writer and artist, although that is easier said than done, especially since I want to keep as much of my work free for the public to read as possible. For right now, I am content with finding other people to talk about my stories, characters, and projects with.

Where can I support/commission you?

I currently take VTuber model commissions through Ko-Fi, although I am looking to expand my art services to places like VGen. As time goes on, I may also open up editing or critique services, if anyone is interested.

Sidenote: You can also send tips to me via Ko-Fi if you like my stories and want to give monetary support. I plan on introducing membership tiers (with perks like early chapter and story releases) in the future.
